Nyssa is a Neurological Physiotherapist with over 10 years of clinical experience, specialising in neurological conditions that affect everyday life. She’s particularly passionate about working with people living with Parkinson’s disease, to encourage self-efficacy and help build confidence in managing their condition. She has worked with Parkinson’s patients at every stage of the journey - from the moment of diagnosis to those who have been managing their condition for over 20 years to people acutely post Deep Brain Stimulation.
As well as her clinical work, she is currently completing a Master of Neuroscience, is a co-founder of emPowereD and develops all resources and content for the emPowereD website. She uses her extensive patient-facing clinical experience to inform her role as Research Fellow with Integrated Neurology and the Sydney DBS team.
Dr. Paul Silberstein

Dr Paul Silberstein is the Founder and Principal of Integrated Neurology, with over two decades of specialised expertise in neurological medicine.
Dr Silberstein is a Senior Staff Specialist Neurologist at Royal North Shore Hospital, the clinical lead to the Movement Disorder meeting at RNSH, a Visiting Medical Officer at North Shore Private Hospital and a founder and regular contributor to the educational websites, Sydney DBS and emPowereD.
As a specialist Movement Disorders Neurologist, Dr Silberstein focuses exclusively on the diagnosis and management of Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders, andbhas extensive experience across both medical and surgical treatment options for PD. He is recognised nationally and internationally for his expertise in Deep Brain Stimulation.


Dr. Raymond Cook
Consultant Neurosurgeon

Dr Raymond Cook is an experienced neurosurgeon with over 30 years of practice, specialising in functional neurosurgery, including over 20 years of experience in deep brain stimulation (DBS) treating Parkinson's disease, dystonia and tremor.
Dr Cook was instrumental in working with the Australian government to achieve Medicare registration of DBS for Parkinson’s disease, dystonia, and familial tremor throughout the mid-2000s. Over the following two decades, the procedure evolved from an experimental "last resort" into a rigorously studied, mainstream scientifically validated treatment for a wide range of neurological conditions.
Dr Cook and his team at Sydney DBS and NSPH have cared for more than 700 patients with neurological conditions, the majority with Parkinson’s disease.
He is a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) at Royal North Shore Hospital and North Shore Private Hospital.
